ABOUT US

EQ inc. is an initiative of Minnaar & Associates CC, a company that has been active since 1986 in assisting major South African companies in increasing productivity through the acquisition of "soft skills", and the development of emotional skills.

Dr Gawie and Susan Minnaar are founding members of EQ inc.

Dr Gawie Minnaar was born in Paarl in 1943. He matriculated in 1960 at the Hottentots Holland High School, Somerset West. After completing his BA and BA Hons(Psychology) degrees at the University of Stellenbosch, he obtained an MA degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Pretoria . In 1975 he received his doctorate at the same University.

Dr Minnaar joined the Human Sciences Research Council in 1970. Here he was involved with the development of Personality Tests and Selection Batteries.

In 1980 he was appointed as Personnel Manager at Infoplan. Since 1986 Dr Minnaar has been functioning independently and he is a co-member of the closed corporation: Minnaar and Associates. Dr Minnaar was a co-worker and presenter of the SABC documentary: "Stress - Are you coping?"

Susan Minnaar was born in Pretoria and obtained her Honours-degree in Psychology at the University of Pretoria; she received an MA degree in Counselling Psychology from UNISA.

Before she became a consultant, specialising in managerial training, she worked for the Human Sciences Research Council, Institute for Personnel Research (CSIR), and University of Pretoria as counsellor and the University of South Africa as a lecturer.

She is married to Gawie Minnaar, co-member of Minnaar and Associates CC.
